IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Lowedges Junior Academy and ACET understands and greatly appreciates the crucially important work being undertaken by our frontline services, such as the NHS, ambulance, police and fire services, especially during the current Coronavirus pandemic. We recognise the importance of ensuring onsite education for the children of personnel from these services, should staff shortages in the academy enforce partial closures. Therefore, we invite parents/carers who work in frontline services to identify themselves to us by contacting Lindsay Jones at lindsay.jones@lowedgesacademy.org. Thank you.

Following government advice, ALL planned trips and visits scheduled to take place over the next 12 weeks have been cancelled. We are in contact with the travel companies and our insurers and hope to be able to recover costs but cannot guarantee this at this stage. We will confirm details as soon as possible.

Here is a list of websites that your child can access from home to continue their learning should they be self-isolating or in the event the academy is closed.

 May 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

In line with government and medical expert guidance, parents are advised that children’s clothing should be changed and washed immediately after returning home from attending the academy. In order to support parents with this, ACET has relaxed its uniform policy for pupils, encouraging them to wear casual clothing instead.

 All pupils must wear the appropriate school uniform. ACET firmly believe that a smart dress code reinforces high standards of behaviour and respect.  This is a school policy, endorsed by the Governing Body.  Lowedges Junior Academy school uniform consists of the following items;

Reception Clases:

  • Mid-grey smart v-neck jumper
  • Mid-grey pinafore dress for Girls
  • Mid-grey tailored trousers for Boys
  • Yellow T-Shirt style PE Top
  • White socks for girls; mid-grey socks for boys
  • Smart black shoes (not trainers)
  • Hair accessories must be black and/or gold in colour

Year 1 & 2

  • Mid-grey pinafore dress for Girls
  • Mid-grey tailored trousers for Boys
  • Black and Gold rugby style PE Top
  • White socks for girls; mid-grey socks for boys
  • Smart black shoes (not trainers)
  • Hair accessories must be black and/or gold in colour

Year 3-6

  • Black Blazer with embroidered 'Lowedges' Junior Academy logo and gold braid -
(please be aware there is a difference between the blazers for boys and girls; boys’ blazers have a black lining whereas the girls’ blazers have a gold lining).

  • White shirt/blouse – long or short sleeved
  • Black and gold striped tie (elasticated)
  • Mid-grey pinafore dress for Girls
  • Mid-grey tailored trousers for Boys
  • Yellow T-Shirt style PE Top
  • White socks for girls; mid-grey socks for boys
  • Smart black shoes (not trainers)
  • Hair accessories must be black and/or gold in colour

Any child not wearing the appropriate school uniform will be identified by the class teacher and will be given the necessary items to wear for the duration of the school day. Such items of clothing will then need to be returned, by the child, to the school reception before the child leaves to go home.

We do not ask pupils to change their footwear every day but if the weather is extreme – thick snow or torrential rain – we ask them to bring a change of shoes.

Each of these items can be purchased individually or as a subsidised bundle for £25 which contains:

  • Blazer
  • Jumper
  • Rugby Top
  • Tie

Please speak to a member of staff at reception who will be happy to assist.  Uniform items can also be purchased at Pinders Schoolwear at Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre, Sheffield 0114 2513275
