Spellings
Spellings will be stuck in your child's planner weekly. Please practise your child's spellings with them at least 3 times a week. Spelling Shed can be used to support their learning of spellings.

Spring 1 Spelling Rules
Week 1: Adding the suffixes ‘-ing’ and ‘-ed’
Week 2: Words with the digraph ‘ar’
Week 3: Words with the digraph ‘ee’
Week 4: Words where the digraph ‘ea’ makes an /ee/ sound
Week 5: Words where the digraph ‘ea’ makes an /e/ sound’
Times Tables
By the end of Y1, your child will have learned their 2, 5 and 10 times table. Please encourage them to chant their times tables at home.
