Important Announcement - January 4th 2021

Monday 4th January 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

Following tonight’s Government announcement of a further national lockdown, the academy will be open to keyworker and vulnerable pupils only from Tuesday 5th January 2021. Key worker pupils please arrive for your usual designated times but via the main entrance. This includes any child who was classed as a key worker pupil during the first lockdown. Staff will be present outside to show pupils which classrooms they will be working in. Any vulnerable pupils will be contacted tomorrow so should stay at home until contacted. All other pupils should remain at home and class teachers will be setting remote learning for them through Google Classroom – please use previously shared login details to access this. Should you have any issues with this, please contact your child’s class teacher through the year group e-mails and we will endeavour to support you. For any pupils in receipt of free school meals, vouchers will be organised and we will be in touch with an update before the end of the week.

Thank you for your continued support.

Miss L Jones

Lowedges Junior Academy and ACET understands and greatly appreciates the crucially important work being undertaken by our frontline services, such as the NHS, ambulance, police and fire services, especially during the current Coronavirus pandemic. We recognise the importance of ensuring onsite education for the children of personnel from these services, should staff shortages in the academy enforce partial closures. Therefore, we invite parents/carers who work in frontline services to identify themselves to us by contacting Lindsay Jones at Thank you.

Following government advice, ALL planned trips and visits scheduled to take place over the next 12 weeks have been cancelled. We are in contact with the travel companies and our insurers and hope to be able to recover costs but cannot guarantee this at this stage. We will confirm details as soon as possible.

Here is a list of websites that your child can access from home to continue their learning should they be self-isolating or in the event the academy is closed.
